The big kids had to leave on their excursion at 7:45, so they all grabbed an early breakfast. Celeste and I went to Darren and Sue’s room until the boys woke up. Justin was up about 8:30. Celeste read him stories while waiting for Cameron to wake up. When we all got going, we had a great day together.

Meanwhile, the big kids rode a bus to the Mayan ruins of Tulum for a guided tour and some time for individual exploration.

From there they went down a winding gravel road to the adventure part of their tour. This didn’t sit well with Carla. She became too sick to take in the rest of the activities. The others went zip-lining, where they started out on a tower well above the jungle and went sliding down three separate lines until they were flying through the jungle with trees on either side.

From there they went to another tower from which they rappelled down to the ground.

Finally, they snorkeled down a river in an underground cave where they could barely raise their heads above the water.

They then had a lunch which seemed to help settle Carla’s stomach a little. They returned to the resort around 5. Cameron woke up soon after, but wasn’t in a very good mood. We all gathered at the snack bar for drinks before going to the Oriental restaurant at 7:30. Neither of the boys was at their best. Justin recovered, but Sue took Cameron back to the room.
