Tuesday 12 July 2022 Amsterdam

 

We woke up in Amsterdam and soon transferred to our hotel. From there we took about a three-hour walking tour to the Rijksmuseum. We had lunch nearby and rode the tram back to the hotel. 

Here is our hotel. We are in the building on the right.

I had arranged to meet my Mom’s first cousin Siegfried Kandel and his sons Bastian and Benjamin at 4 PM. We had a very enjoyable visit and dinner well into the evening. Siegfried only spoke German, but the boys spoke very good English and translated for us. Siegfried gifted me with several photographs and a booklet about the village from which the Kandels came. Siegfried's friend Etta also joined us. Meanwhile, Carla & Tyler visited a craft brewery and Celeste took the evening off.
